In the past six months (yep, just six short months), CoSchedule made a few AWESOME updates:
- Calendar Refresh: Updated the format of your calendar so you can easily track and manage your content from the master view.
- Custom Content: Added more content types (not just the ones we originally thought you needed), and now you can organize them to boot.
- New Content Editor: Eliminated distractions from your content editor by creating a simplified and clean interface.
- And starting today….NEW custom color labels (keep reading)!
All of these updates were because of YOUR feedback.
Your ideas make CoSchedule even better, and let’s be honest, they help us get more organized, too. Which is why we are excited to announce the launch of our newest feature…
1. Custom Color Labels!
With a calendar jam-packed with multiple projects, multiple deadlines, and lots of WORDS, it’s those tiny, but powerful, color labels that help you find your content fast.
Which is why, as of today, we’ve made your color labels even more powerful.
With the NEW custom color labels, you can personalize your labels with custom colors, give your labels a name, AND prioritize them based on what your team cares about!
Start Getting [More] Organized with Color Labels
Let’s get to the nitty gritty of what makes color labels so awesome:
- Personalize your calendar with custom color labels. Create custom color labels, so you can categorize, prioritize, and emphasize the projects you (and your team) care about with the colors you care about.
- Easily identify your color labels by giving them a name. Stop wasting valuable time translating your mystical color system; give your team the context they need by adding a name to every color label.
- Prioritize your labels based on what matters to you (and your team). Organize your color labels (based on what you care about), so you can add content to the calendar fast and keep your team focused on the right stuff.
To get started creating your custom color labels, head to your calendar settings.
On the right side of the screen, you will now see all of your labels listed (with the pre-set color scheme), and ready to be customized!
To start personalizing your calendar with custom color labels, click on the circle icon, and either select one of the colors listed in the drop down palette, or you can select the EXACT color you need by using the color wheel (or even putting in the exact hex number).
So now if you have a custom color palette for your brand or company, or if certain colors just make you feel warm and fuzzy…you can use them within your calendar!
With custom color labels, you can also give a name to each label. Simply type it into the text box next to the color you want to use.
Need more than the original seven color labels? No problem!
With the new custom color labels, there is no limit to the amount of labels you can have on your calendar. Easily add another label by using the “add” option, select your the color, and give it a name.
Finally, once you have all the labels you need, you can prioritize your labels. Easily drag and drop them in the order that works best for you.
Don’t want to give a label a name (or haven’t decided what to name it yet)?
That’s fine! These labels will be listed horizontally at the bottom of the dropdown.
Now it’s easy to personalize your calendar with the new custom color labels (AND get way more organized in the process).
It’s a win-win.

2. Managing Your Calendar…Made Easier
Half the battle of getting organized is just putting items on the calendar…
…the other half is keeping track of all them!
Thanks to your feedback, the Calendar Refresh highlighted some of the best (and nerdiest assets 🤓 ) CoSchedule has to offer for Type A marketers.
The updated color filters added a pop of color to your calendar (making it easier to tell the difference between each piece of content AND get a full view of everything that’s happening)…
…while the social message preview made it much faster to quickly access and review a Tweet, Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest post (without ever leaving your master calendar view).
And let’s not forget autosave…never again will a project be lost if you closed out of a nearly-completed piece of content because you forgot to hit “save” first.
Basically, the Calendar Refresh made your life less complicated, and simpler to manage.

3. Customizable [+ Organizable] Content
Content is not a “one size fits all” and neither is your team.
So, we seriously improved the organization and management of your content…with custom content types!
This update enhanced your content experience so you can customize and organize the types of content your team cares about.
Whether you write blog posts, create weekly podcasts, design infographics, or manage full-scale feature launches, CoSchedule now has all the content types to meet your needs.
What’s so great about content types?
Because specifying a content type gives your team context!
Gettin’ specific keeps your team on the same page (especially when multiple people are working on the same project), so you can keep projects moving forward instead of getting caught up trying to stay in the loop.
Finally, the custom content types make it easy to prioritize the content that matters to you most.
Easily create a hierarchy of content types based on the pieces of content you use most (so you can get to the real work…faster).

4. Distractions Be Gone! (With The Updated Content Editor)
Distractions are the worst.
Incomplete tasks…open items that need review…multiple conversation windows…
With so much on your screen begging to be noticed, it seems like a major feat if you can stay focused for more than five minutes.
But thanks to feedback from you, we modified your calendar so it can be a little less distracting….with the updated Content Editor.
Now you can easily hide, turn-off, or minimize aspects of the editor for a clean, simplistic interface–it’s everything you need, and nothing you don’t.
You can also keep all your files, productivity tools (such as conversations, tasks, and contributors), social promotion, etc., organized in once place WITHOUT overwhelming your editor.
The update also enabled notification flags, the ability to create unscheduled tasks (and organize them), turn social campaigns ON or OFF, and even the Headline Analyzer was given it’s own tab.
By eliminating all that noise on your screen, it makes it easier to focus on your work…
…so you can get sh*t done.
