Headline Studio is a separate product from your CoSchedule calendar, with its own login at headlines.coschedule.com and its own subscription. It has three plans: Free, Basic and Premium. Every plan runs on credits.
What each plan includes

You don't need a card for the Free plan. You're asked for one only when you start a Premium trial or upgrade.
Basic
Basic and Premium come with more credits each month. You choose the amount on the Headline Studio pricing page. Basic includes:
- Headline Score: rates your headline on word balance, word count, character count, headline type, reading grade level, sentiment, clarity and skimmability
- Idea Generator: uses AI to suggest new headline ideas
- Thesaurus: finds synonyms and other words that can raise your score
- Word Banks: uncommon and common words
Premium
Premium includes everything in Basic, plus:
- Headline Score suggestions: tips on how to improve your score
- SEO Score: shows how your headline stacks up in search results, with SEO suggestions, keyword quality, keyword density, average monthly search, search competition, keyword trend, search preview, headline competition, keyword variations and related questions
- Headline AI: suggests other words, phrases or headline types to make your headline more compelling
- Keyword Explorer: finds new or alternate keyword topics to help your headline rank higher
- Word Banks: power, emotional, uncommon and common words
- Favorites: keeps the headline versions you like best at the top of your list
- Full History & Search: lets you search every headline you've analyzed and every topic you've generated
If your plan shows headlines or versions instead of credits, you're on an older plan. If you change to a current plan, you can't switch back to the older one.
How credits work
- Each Analyze, Reanalyze and Generate uses 1 credit.
- Opening a headline whose score is more than 21 days old re-scores it without using a credit.
- Credits reset each month on your billing date, on annual plans too. On the Free plan, they reset on the date you signed up.
- Unused credits don't roll over to the next month.
- Bonus credits from a promotion do carry over.
- You can't buy credits on their own. To get more each month, change to a plan with more credits.
- Your credit count shows at the top right. Hover over it to see your reset date.
If you see Upgrade on Premium
Seeing Upgrade while you're on Premium means you've used this month's credits. Hover over your credit count to see when they reset, or change to a plan with more credits.
How many credits you need
Plan on 2 to 4 credits for each piece you publish. Multiply that by the number of pieces you publish each month, then choose that amount on the pricing page.
Headline limits
- Headlines can be up to 255 characters.
- Paste headlines as plain text. Formatting such as bold changes the score.
Teams and the CoSchedule calendar
- Headline Studio doesn't have team member invitations. Each person can create their own free account.
- People who share one login also share its credits.
- If Headline Studio Premium came with your CoSchedule calendar, it belongs to the calendar owner's email and works only in Headline attachments on calendar projects. See Use Headline Studio in your CoSchedule calendar.
