B2C Marketing:

B2C stands for "business to consumer" marketing. This refers to the tactics used when a business markets directly to their customers, rather than going through other companies.

B2C marketing allows for a business to create a relationship with each and every one of their customers. This is the opposite of a B2B (business to business) model.

Famous B2C companies include:

  • Amazon
  • eBay
  • Netflix
  • Uber
  • Walmart

Some B2C companies include B2B marketing tactics, so the easiest way to determine if an company is B2C, is to recognize who they market to. A true B2C company will market to customers instead of other businesses.

Below is a graphic from Awware that shows more examples of B2C and B2B companies, and where they land on the spectrum.

As you can see, there are certain trends in each category.

For example, B2C companies lean more to the retail side and B2B companies lean more to the software side.
