How to Set up and Use Social Approvals

Ensure all planned social messages get final sign-off from clients or your internal review team before anything’s published with required Social Approvals.

Enable Social Approvals Feature

  1. Open your calendar and click to open Settings
  2. Under Settings, click Power Ups
  3. Click Enable Social Approvals on the Social Approvals tile

Manage Team Member Settings

  1. Open your calendar and click to open Settings
  2. Click on the Team Members tab
  3. Locate the team member and click Edit
  4. Under the Social Approvals section, check or uncheck the box next to Allow user to make social approvals to grant or remove permission
  5. You can set one team member to be the default social approver. This team member will be selected as the approver on all social posts that require approval. You will still have the ability to remove them or add additional approvers on each specific post. If you already have a team member set as the default approver and try to set a different team member as the default approver, you'll get a pop-up message asking if you'd like to change the default approver, as there can only be one.

How to Require Approval on a Social Message

  1. When creating a Social Message, click Approvals to expand the Social Approvals section of the social composer window
  2. Click Add Approver to see a drop-down list of team members with social approval permission, then select team member(s)
  3. By default, if you've selected multiple team members, only one needs to approve the social message. If you prefer all selected team members' approval, toggle Require approval from all
  4. When viewed on the calendar, social messages with pending approval will show a yellow approval icon. If a social message is scheduled to be published before approval is granted, it will fail to publish.
  5. If needed, click the mail icon next to the approver's name to resend a reminder or click X to revoke the pending approval.

How to Manage Social Approvals and Approve Messages

  1. From the calendar, click Approvals from the left-side menu to open the Social Approvals page
    • The My Approvals tab will show social messages pending your approval, or those you've approved, depending on which approval status you've selected in the upper right corner.
    • The All Approvals tab will show all social messages pending team members' approval, or those team members have approved, depending on which approval status you've selected in the upper right corner.
  2. When viewing a social message on the Approvals page, you can preview the message and engage in a discussion with your team.
  3. To approve a social message, click Approve
  4. If needed, you can locate a previously approved social message in All Approvals and click Remove Approval (as long as the social message is not yet published)
