How to Use the Bulk Project Import Feature

Upload content quickly and easily with the Bulk Project Import feature.
Note: Bulk Social Upload is available in Social Calendar, Content Calendar, and Marketing Suite.

How to Import

To access the Bulk Project Import feature:
  1. Select the +Create button in the top right corner of your Calendar View.
  2. Select More Options.
  3. Click Bulk Project Import.
  4. From there you will be taken to a new page where you can choose how you'd like to import your projects into your calendar.
  5. You can either import data from a project management tool or create a spreadsheet from scratch.
All your projects will be added to the calendar only if your upload includes dates. If the CSV import does not detect a date for your project, it will be added under your Ideas Bin. Dates should be formatted as MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY (with the option to select formatting on the upload screen). Please Note: There is a limit of 200 projects and 10 text attachments per project for each import.

Export Project Data from Other Tools

Download this CSV template to get started. If your tool isn’t listed, use the CSV option above to import existing projects to your calendar.

Use the Bulk Project Import Wizard to select the tool you are pulling your data from. When you select one of the options, it will take you to another page with step-by-step instructions for importing data from that specific source.

Exporting from Microsoft Excel

  1. Open your project file in Microsoft Excel.
  2. Click "File" > "Save As".
  3. Select "CSV" as the file type from the dropdown menu.

Exporting from Monday.com

  1. Open the Board you want to Export
  2. Click the 3 dot menu at the top right corner of your board
  3. Click 'More actions' 
  4. 'Export board to “CSV.”'

Exporting from Google Sheets

  1. Open your project file in Google Sheets.
  2. Click "File" > "Download"
  3. Select "Comma-separated values (.csv, current sheet)"
  4. The file will automatically save to the Downloads folder on your computer.

Exporting from Asana

  1. Click the drop-down arrow in the “Project Actions” menu
  2. Click ‘Export 
  3. Select ‘CSV.’

Exporting from Wrike

  1. Navigate to the folder, project, or space that you'd like to export.
  2. Click the three-dot menu button in the top-right corner.
  3. Choose how you want to export your data
  4. Click “Export”. (The file will download as an Excel spreadsheet)
  5. Open the spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel
  6. Click "File" > "Save As".
  7. Select "CSV" as the file type from the dropdown menu.

Exporting from Trello

Requires Business Class
  1. Click ‘Board Menu” > “More” > “Print and Export. 
  2. Click “Export as CSV.”

Exporting from DivvyHq

  1. Filter to the content items you want to export.
  2. Click “CSV” and download the file.

  1. Select the issues you need to export from Jira.
  2. Search for the export button located at the Issues Navigator menu.
  3. Select the format in which you want to export the issues.

Using the CSV Template

If your tool isn't available on the Bulk Project Import Wizard or you don't currently have your projects documented in a tool, download our CSV template to import existing projects to your calendar. Click Here to Download the CSV Template OR access it from the Bulk Project Import page (see directions below).
  1. You will need a spreadsheet program, such as Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or Numbers.
  2. Click the "Download Our CSV Template" button on the Bulk Project Import page and the CSV file will download onto your computer.
  3. Open the file with any spreadsheet program.
  4. Fill in your project details using the columns and rows provided or add your own.
  5. Upload the CVS file to CoSchedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is there a way I can set the project type or add labels from the spreadsheet? A: No, Project types cannot be set via the .csv file at this time. Instead, you will have the opportunity to manually set the project after uploading the file during the import process. As of right now, project title, publish date, project idea, and copy can be set via bulk import .csv file.   Q: Is there a way to add tasks associated with projects? A: No, tasks cannot be added via the CSV file at this time. You can add tasks after your projects have been imported.   Q: I just imported a CSV file and noticed that it added a ton of projects that I don’t want - how do I delete them all at once? A: If you missed or dismissed the review prompt after importing and now have a lot of items on your calendar you didn’t intend to import, we may be able to help by deleting that full import.
