What the free plan includes

The free plan lets you schedule social messages for one social profile at no cost. It's not the same as a free trial of Starter or Professional.

What's included

  • 1 social profile
  • Up to 15 scheduled social messages at a time

The 15-message limit counts every social message on your calendar that hasn't been sent yet, including drafts and messages that failed to publish. When you reach it, you see a "Scheduled Messages Limit Reached" error. To make room, publish or delete draft and failed messages.

What needs a paid plan

  • X (Twitter)
  • Social analytics
  • Bulk scheduling from a CSV file
  • ReQueue
  • Read-only calendar sharing (Professional and Suite)
  • Discussions on projects
  • Recurring tasks and events, and task templates
  • Project and task contributors
  • Duplicating projects

For everything paid plans include, see What each CoSchedule plan includes.

Get the free plan

You reach the free plan by starting a free trial and canceling it before it ends.

  1. Start a free trial of Starter or Professional. See How trials work.
  2. Cancel your subscription before the trial ends. You won't be charged. See Cancel your subscription.
  3. Remove extra social profiles, team members and calendars until you're within the free plan's limits. For the full steps, see Upgrade, downgrade or change your billing cycle.
  4. When the trial ends, the Owner clicks Switch to Free.

If your account is still over the free plan's limits on social profiles, users or calendars, nothing changes and you see "Before you can downgrade, you must take action on your account." Remove the extras, then click Check Again.

Once you're within the free plan's limits, the switch takes effect right away. It doesn't remove or unschedule any social profiles, users or scheduled messages. Your integrations, including WordPress and Google Drive, stay connected. ReQueue is removed.

Keep your calendar on the free plan

If no one signs in to a free calendar for 4 months, CoSchedule sends notices and then deletes its data. Signing in keeps it. See Why you got a "Take action to keep your calendar" email.
