The Guest role lets someone work on the projects you assign to them without full access to your calendar. Guest user access is available on Suite.
What a Guest can do
- View and edit projects assigned to them.
- Edit projects they follow as a contributor, including the project's details.
- Complete tasks assigned to them.
- Favorite projects.
- Use the Calendar and Home dashboards.
What a Guest can't do
- Create, publish or delete projects.
- See or create social messages. Social messages don't show on the calendar for a Guest.
- Use any dashboard other than Calendar and Home.
- Apply templates.
- Open calendar Settings.
Some permissions are always off for a Guest and can't be turned on, including Access Social Content. See Customize role permissions.
Seats
A Guest doesn't use a user seat. Each Guest uses a guest license instead. If every user seat is in use, you can change a team member's role to Guest to free a seat for someone else.
Add someone as a Guest
- From your calendar, open Settings.
- Click the Team Members tab.
- Click Invite Team Member.
- Enter the person's email address and choose the Guest role.
- Click Invite Team Member.
To make an existing team member a Guest, change their role. See Invite, change or remove team members.
Guest, Approver or read-only view?
- Choose Guest for someone who works on specific projects and tasks.
- Choose Approver for someone who only approves social messages, such as a client. Approvers are available on Professional and Suite. See Team member roles.
- Share a read-only view for someone who only needs to look at the calendar. See Share a read-only view of your calendar.
