Why are my Bitly links broken?

When a Bitly link fails inside of a social message, the most common reason is that the placeholder link https://bitly.com/******/ was copied from a previous message and pasted into the text edit area of a new message.

CoSchedule displays the placeholder link https://bitly.com/******/ until the message actually publishes to make sure that if the permalink changes between message creation and message publish, we send out the correct link. This allows you to schedule social media before a post is even live.

To ensure this doesn’t happen in the future, please make sure to add the correct URL to your social messages or use the {permalink} Social Helper when creating messages within a Social Campaign.
