Instagram Location Tagging

Tag locations in Instagram social messages published from your CoSchedule calendar.

Requirements

To use Instagram location tagging in CoSchedule, you must have an Instagram Shop connected to a Facebook Page. The Business Portfolio must be fully set up, verified, and all required checks must be completed. Please note that newly created shops can take some time to become fully functional, even if Facebook or Instagram indicates that the shop is ready. On the CoSchedule side, you must have both the Facebook Page and the Instagram account that are connected within the Business Portfolio connected to your calendar.

FAQs

Why am I required to set up an Instagram Shop to use location tagging?

While having an Instagram Shop is not required to tag a location from Instagram natively, due to API limitations and how this feature is implemented within CoSchedule, it is currently required to have an active Instagram Shop.

Why didn't my location tag work for my carousel social message?

CoSchedule only officially supports location tagging in single-image or single-video social messages. It may work with multiple images, but it's not guaranteed.

Why can't I tag a location in the way that I can from Instagram natively?

CoSchedule uses Instagram's API for location tagging, which works differently from the Instagram platform. When tagging a location in an Instagram social message from CoSchedule, you can choose from search results displaying Facebook places and pages that can be tagged.
