- On Instagram, location tags are supported on messages with one image or one video. They may work on a carousel of several images, but that isn't guaranteed.
- On Facebook, location tags work on single-image posts and Reels only. Facebook rejects a location tag on a video post or Story.
- On Instagram, location tags aren't available on Stories.
Frequently asked questions
Why can't I find a location?
Only places with a Facebook Page show up. If the search returns nothing at all, reconnect the Facebook Page to refresh its permissions, then try again.
Why can't I tag a location the way I can in the Facebook or Instagram app?
CoSchedule tags locations through Facebook's and Instagram's publishing connection for apps, which works differently from their own apps.
Why does Instagram need a shop for location tags?
The Instagram app doesn't need one, but tagging a location through CoSchedule currently requires an active Instagram Shop.
