Note: This integration is not available in Free Calendar.
How to Connect a YouTube Channel to CoSchedule
- From your calendar, open Settings
- Under the main Settings tab, click Integrations
- Locate and click YouTube
- Click Enable
- Follow the prompts to log into the Google Account that the YouTube channel is connected to. You can connect multiple channels if needed.
- Once connected, CoSchedule will begin syncing with YouTube, pulling in the last 30 days of videos from your YouTube channel in YouTube Studio.
How to Create a YouTube Project in CoSchedule
- From your calendar, click +Create
- Select YouTube. If you have more than one YouTube channel connected to your calendar you'll be prompted to select one channel.
- By default, the Title will be the name of the Project and Privacy will be set to Private.
- To add a video, click the Video Camera icon.
- Once a video is selected CoSchedule will begin uploading to YouTube and the video cannot be replaced. If you added the wrong video you will need to delete the video from YouTube Studio and start over.
- Notify Subscribers can only be set on initial video upload and will be greyed out once the video is set.
- When the Privacy of the video is set to Private, you'll see a toggle to Make Public on Publish. When this toggle is on, CoSchedule will change the video from Private to Publish in YouTube Studio when the YouTube project is set to publish.
- You can add a social campaign to your YouTube project and use the following social helpers within social messages: {title} will pull the Title of the video, {excerpt} will pull the description of the video, and {permalink} will pull the link of the video.
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
- CoSchedule will keep the last 30 days' worth of YouTube videos up to date and in sync with YouTube Studio.
- On initial sync of a video, videos in a Public status will be added to the calendar as a project with a status of Published on the date YouTube has on record. Unlisted and Private videos will come in the calendar as a project with a status of Draft on the state YouTube has on record.
- When a YouTube project is deleted from CoSchedule, CoSchedule does NOT delete the video from YouTube. This means if the video is still in YouTube Studio it will re-sync back to the calendar.
- If a video is changed to a status of Public on YouTube, CoSchedule will change the project to a status of Published to begin sending social campaign messages.
- CoSchedule will check YouTube at least every 15 minutes for updates to videos from the last 30 days. CoSchedule will check for updates more aggressively (every 3 minutes) when you are logged in and actively using CoSchedule. When you are actively looking at a YouTube project, we will automatically sync when the project is opened and sync it every minute while it is being viewed.
