Getting Started with Social Inbox

Social Inbox is a powerful inbox-style feature that allows you to respond to mentions, comments, replies, and direct messages from a single dashboard. Social Calendar users can view Facebook and Instagram in Social Inbox, while Agency Calendar and higher plan users can view Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Google Business Profiles in Social Inbox. Learn how to get started and get details on what is supported below.
Note: The Social Inbox feature is not available in Free Calendar.

How to Enable and Access Social Inbox

  1. From your calendar, open Settings
  2. Click Power Ups
  3. Click Enable Social Inbox
  4. Once enabled, open it by clicking the Social Inbox tab in your left-side menu
Conversations are tracked in your Social Inbox from the time they are enabled. If you disable Social Inbox, anything in your Inbox will be removed, whether read or unread. If you re-enable Social Inbox, it will pick up new messages from that point forward but will not show previous conversations.
When you open Social Inbox, you'll see all social profiles listed on the left side. You'll see a count of unread items next to each. You can view all or click on a social profile to filter which items are shown. Unread items will display a green dot. Click to open any item. If you're viewing an item that allows for a like or reply, you can take those actions here. (See sections below for details on what's supported with each social network) Click the archive icon to archive any item. Click to toggle between your Inbox and Archived items. When viewing Archived items, you can use the unarchive icon to move the item back to your Inbox. Click to toggle between All Types and specific types of items in your Inbox or Archived.

Facebook in Social Inbox

Facebook pages are supported in Social Inbox with Social Calendar and higher plans. Comments Comments on Facebook posts will appear in Social Inbox.

  • You can like from the Inbox.
Mentions from Pages Mentions from Facebook pages will appear in Social Inbox.
  • You can reply from the Inbox.
  • You can like from the Inbox.
Mentions from Personal Profiles Mentions from Facebook profiles will appear in the Social Inbox. CoSchedule cannot pull in profile names or images, so these will show up as Anonymous.

Direct Messages Direct Messages to Facebook pages will appear in the Inbox.
  • You can reply to a Direct Message from the Inbox within 24 hours of the message being sent. After 24 hours, you'll need to reply from Facebook.
Update Schedule Facebook items will be updated in Social Inbox in real-time, except mentions from personal profiles, which will be synced every 6 hours, or every minute when logged into the calendar.

Google Business Profile in Social Inbox

Google Business Profiles are supported in Social Inbox with Agency Calendar and higher plans. Reviews New Reviews will appear in Social Inbox. Questions New Questions will appear in Social Inbox.
  • You can reply to new questions from the Inbox.
  • You can update a reply from the Inbox.
Update Schedule Google Business Profile items will generally be updated in Social Inbox in real-time, but there may be delays of up to 1 hour.

Instagram in Social Inbox

Instagram creator and business accounts are supported in Social Inbox with Social Calendar and higher plans. Comments Comments on Instagram posts will appear in the Inbox.
  • You can reply from the Inbox.
Media Tags Tags in images and videos will appear in Social Inbox. CoSchedule cannot pull in profile pictures for users who tag your social profile in media. Mentions in the description or as a comment will not appear in the Inbox. Direct Messages Direct Messages to Instagram will appear in the Inbox.
  • You can reply to a Direct Message from the Inbox within 24 hours of the message being sent. Past 24 hours, you'll need to reply from Instagram.
Update Schedule These Instagram items will be updated in real-time, except media tags, which will be synced every 6 hours or every minute when logged into the calendar.

LinkedIn in Social Inbox

LinkedIn Company Pages are supported in Social Inbox with Agency Calendar and higher plans. Comments from LinkedIn Company Pages Comments on posts from LinkedIn company pages will appear in Social Inbox.
  • You can reply from the Inbox.
  • You can like from the Inbox.
Comments from LinkedIn Profiles Comments from LinkedIn profiles will appear in Social Inbox. CoSchedule cannot pull in profile names or profile photos.

Mentions from LinkedIn Company Pages Mentions from LinkedIn company pages will appear in Social Inbox.

How to Manage Social Profiles Shown in Social Inbox

  1. From your calendar, open Settings
  2. Click Power Ups
  3. Click Social Inbox Settings
  4. From this page, you can toggle social profiles on and off

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I mark an item as unread?

No. Once you click to open an item, the green dot indicating unread will disappear.

Can I access Social Inbox from the mobile app?

No. The Social Inbox is not supported in the CoSchedule mobile app.

Why does it say Anonymous?

CoSchedule is not able to pull in names or photos for Instagram and LinkedIn profiles, so they will be displayed as Anonymous.

What Social Profiles do you support in Social Inbox?

Free Calendar Social Inbox is not included with Free Calendar. Social Calendar Facebook and Instagram are supported in Social Calendar. Agency Calendar, Agency Pro, Content Calendar, Marketing Suite Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn company pages, and Google Business Profiles are supported in Agency Calendar and higher plans.
